Let’s Go Blues

So the blues are gearing up for the 09-10 season which will begin in September with a game in Sweden. Being the big St. Louis sports fans, and in particular the big Blues fans that we are here at Altec we figured we would do a post about the upcoming season as well as the prospects in the organization.

Overall the Blues are looking to have an excellent team this year, especially considering the fact that they will be adding Eric Johnson, Paul Kayia, D.J. King and potentially Alex Pietrangelo to a team that made the playoffs last year and were very competitive during the regular season. Another Key addition is that of goalie Ty Conklin who was a wall for detroit at times last year… (but then again it seems like many goalies who played well for detroit come to the Blues suck it up… cough many legacy) So the verdict is still out on the Conklin signing but on the surface it really seems to be a solid move and gives us a legitimate number 2 goalie behind Mason.

A couple of the young rookies who have a real good shot of making the Blue roster are Lars Eller and Alex Pietrangelo. Eller is a solid two way forward from Sweden who looks to add a real solid skill set to the team if he can recover in time from his shoulder injury and make the club. Pietrangelo who is currently rated as the #1 prospect on Hockey futures [www.hockeysfuture.com] looks like he will definitely have a great shot of making the team. That would mean that Eric Johnson and Pietrangelo would both be added to the defense corps from last year which is a huge. It almost makes you wonder if the Blues will finally get rid or Eric Brewer…. Lol but that is a whole nother story.

Wrapping this up here, we think that the Blues are poised for a GREAT season, they are definitely playoff bound and have the talent to do some real damage in the post season.
